Yet another GOP scandal involving corruption in which legislation has adversely affected yet again the American taxpayer's wallets – this time with Alaska Senator Ted Stevens. Many have said for years - as goes Alaska, goes the nation in Presidential elections. Republican Senator Stevens, the first sitting U.S. senator to face federal indictment since 1993, has been indicted on seven counts of falsely reporting hundreds of thousands of dollars in services he received from a International Oil Services company Veco Corporation. Alaska senator on charges - “I am innocent”.
